Lucent's Volunteers' Day at R.T Nagar

This Saturday witnessed a memorable event for the children of the Government Urdu Model Primary School, N.S Lanes R.T Nagar and Vishwalaya, an ashram for orphaned children.

Thanks to the involved volunteering effort from Lucent Technologies in celebration of their Global Volunteering Day.

The volunteers arrived well in time, around 40 of them to help Dream School Foundation's facilitation of this event in the premises of the Urdu school, that DSF has closely worked with for the last two years. The children were there from earlier, expecting a normal day of Summer Camp, that DSF's volunteers have been organizing every Saturday through the holidays. And it seemed like they were pleasantly surprised by the arrangements made, for seating and an addressing system. What followed did not deter the enthusiasm of either the volunteers or the kids, through the stretch of the 5 hour event.

The volunteers had a fun time with the children, singing, dancing, telling them jokes and closely interacting with them.

Among the activities suggested by DSF Volunteers for the day, collage - making with small groups of children

and dressing up the kids with news paper, straw, paint and balloons were a big hit.

The children of the school and Vishwalaya seemed well-prepared and performed groups songs that captivated the audience with their inherent innocence.

In all, everybody present has a good time and lots of fun with children.

And here's testimony :) ...

Thanks to Karthik, for his initiative to help establish a synergy with Lucent that has proved very promising.
